Successfully energized 220 kV Vung Ang transformer station

(Chinhphu.vn) - The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB) coordinated with relevant units to successfully energize the 220 kV Vung Ang transformer station.

This is a project of the 220 kV Vung Ang Substation project and is connected and ready to receive electricity from the Vung Ang Thermal Power Plant to the national power system.

This project was registered by EVNNPT Party Committee to have a welcome sign for the 1st Government Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

The project was selected by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Vietnam Electricity (EVN) as one of EVN's urgent priorities to complete energizing in 2025 and was launched by EVNNPT and the EVNNPT Trade Union to strive to complete as soon as possible.

The project is invested by EVNNPT, the Central Power Project Management Board represents the investor in managing and operating the project; Power Transmission Company 1 takes over operation after completion.

The 220 kV Vung Ang transformer station was built in Trai hamlet, Vung Ang ward, Ha Tinh province. The connecting line passes through Ky Loi commune, Ky Thinh ward, Ky Trinh ward, Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province (now Vung Ang ward and Song Tri ward).

The station is designed with 3 voltage levels of 220 kV, 110 kV, 22 kV; the scale until 2030 is 2 transformers with capacity of 2x250 MVA, this phase installs 1 transformer with capacity of 125 MVA. The connecting line has a length of 2x13.4 km.

The project implementation process encountered many challenges in site clearance and compensation, especially the site for the 220 kV connection line. Along with that, the price of materials and supplies fluctuated, and the contractor's mobilization of construction workers encountered many difficulties because EVN and EVNNPT simultaneously implemented many urgent key power projects.

However, with the support of the government and people of Ha Tinh province, the constant encouragement of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and trade unions at all levels. Along with the close direction of EVN leaders, EVNNPT leaders and EVNNPT's Boards, CPMB leaders are regularly present at the construction site to urge and remove obstacles, build detailed progress and construction plans for items, along with the high determination of contractors participating in the project.

Up to now, the energization of the 220 kV Vung Ang substation has been completed, ready to receive power from the Vung Ang Thermal Power Plant to the national power system after the 220 kV connection line is completed.

Mr. Le Xuan Hoa, Director of CPMB said: To speed up the project progress to put up the welcome sign for the Government Party Congress as planned, immediately after receiving the direction of the EVNNPT Party Committee, the CPMB Party Committee has developed an Action Program to implement the Resolutions of the EVNNPT Party Committee to speed up the investment progress of the construction of the 220 kV Vung Ang substation and connection.

The CPMB Party Committee disseminated, thoroughly grasped, and seriously implemented the Action Program to each Party cell and Party member. Thereby, all cadres, Party members, and workers clearly recognized the role and importance of implementing the Action Programs, creating consensus and high determination in organizing and implementing, contributing to the successful completion of assigned goals and tasks.
