According to information from the Provincial Civil Defense Command, hydroelectric reservoirs inside and outside the province are currently discharging floodwater. Specifically, Tuyen Quang hydroelectric reservoir has opened 7 bottom discharge gates equivalent to over 5,000m 3 /s; Bac Me hydroelectric reservoir has discharged over 2,400m 3 ; Thac Ba hydroelectric plant ( Yen Bai ) has discharged all 3 gates with a discharge flow of over 2,000m 3 .
Currently, the water level in the reservoirs is very high, the hydroelectric reservoirs are continuing to calculate to open the discharge gates. The water level of Lo River and Gam River is rising very quickly. The water level of Gam River at Na Hang is exceeding the alarm level 3 by nearly 2m; the water level in Minh Xuan ward is forecast to be 25.2m to 26m by 11am, above alarm level 3, all communes and wards located along the downstream of Lo River and Gam River will be flooded, urban areas will be flooded in the next 6-8 hours. Information from Malypho province (China) will discharge hydroelectric floodwaters at 12pm today (ie 11am Vietnam time).

The weather is changing abnormally, the possibility of flooding in the communes and wards in the downstream is very high. Currently, the communes of Na Hang, Chiem Hoa, Yen Nguyen, Thai Hoa... have been flooded, the water level is likely to continue to rise, endangering people's lives and property. It is expected that the wards of Phu Lam, Nhu Khe, An Tuong and some low-lying areas will be flooded in about 8 hours. The Provincial Civil Defense Command requested localities to increase forces to evacuate people to safety.
