Today, February 4 (January 7), the Hue Monuments Conservation Center held a flagpole lowering ceremony in the courtyards of Trieu Mieu and The Mieu inside the Hue Imperial City. The ceremony was presided over by the center's leaders, with the participation of a royal music team following the Nguyen Dynasty's rites.
The ceremony of raising and lowering the flagpole in Hue Royal Palace takes place annually on the occasion of Lunar New Year.

Before the flagpole lowering ceremony, there are ceremonies of offering flagpoles, playing grand music, small music, bells and drums... After the flagpole is lowered, the seal is taken out of the box, marking the end of the Lunar New Year holiday of At Ty 2025.
At the end of the flag-lowering ceremony, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center also opened the seal and gave calligraphy to visitors. The calligraphy had the words "prosperity", "luck", "fortune", "fortune", "longevity"... written on it, then used a seal to stamp it and give it to visitors.

Eagerly lining up to get the first calligraphy of the year, Mr. Le Van Toan (47 years old, a tourist from Gia Lai ) felt lucky to unexpectedly receive the first "luck" of the year.
"The ceremony took place very early but I was lucky to participate and witness it. I wish for a new year of national peace, people's safety, and all the best things to come to everyone," said Mr. Toan.
The leader of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center said that the flag-lowering ceremony signals people returning to their daily lives . Culturally, the ceremony introduces domestic and foreign tourists to the ancient Tet activities at the royal court, traditional values and enhances the experience on the first day of spring.
