Today (September 27), the Aqua Warriors Van Don 2025 - Camel Cup tournament organized by Dan Tri newspaper in collaboration with Bolt Event at Sonasea Van Don Harbor City Resort Complex, Van Don Special Zone, Quang Ninh province will officially enter the first day of competition in 3 categories: Open Water Mixes Team Relay, Junior Aqua Warriors and Kids Aqua Warriors.

Notably, this is the first time the Aqua Warriors tournament has featured the 4x750m Open Water Mixed Team Relay. Each team consists of 4 athletes (at least 1 male and 1 female), each athlete takes turns swimming 750m before handing the chip to their teammates.
According to information from the organizing committee, more than 2,000 athletes have registered to participate in the events of the Aqua Warriors Van Don 2025 tournament. The tournament witnessed the largest number of registered athletes ever.
The weather in Van Don is sunny and windy. Therefore, many athletes went to the beach at Sonasea Van Don Harbor City Resort Complex to experience the test swimming track.
Mr. Quang Hoa from Dak Lak , who arrived very early at the trial swimming course, confided: “This is the first time I have the opportunity to compete in the Aqua Warriors tournament. I will compete in two events: Ultra Aqua Warriors and relay swimming. Therefore, I arrived here early to experience the swimming course.

For me, the swimming course at the Aqua Warriors Van Don 2025 tournament is the most challenging of all the tournaments I have participated in before. The swimming course has a current flowing to the left, so inexperienced athletes can easily drift into the buoy. I am not afraid of the sunny weather here, but only afraid of the current. That is the challenge I need to overcome if I want to achieve high results in the events I participate in."
Similarly, young athlete Pham Minh Chau (10 years old, competing in the Juniors Aqua Warriors event) said: “For me, this is a difficult swimming course and creates many challenges. The swimming course in Van Don is much more difficult than the tournament in Ha Long. In Ha Long, the swimming course is straighter, while in Van Don, the swimming course has big waves, swimming is very tiring. I will try my best to compete this afternoon.”

Young athlete Minh Chau admitted that the swimming course in Van Don brought many challenges because of the waves, making swimming very difficult (Photo: Quyet Thang).
Ms. Le Phuong Vy from Saigon Athletic team also shared the same opinion: “The waves at Van Don swimming track are very interesting, bringing great challenges to the athletes. I am not sure if I can complete my event. I will try my best”.

Coach Do Chien Thang of the DL swimming team, who has trained many young athletes participating in the Aqua Warriors Van Don 2025 tournament, shared: “The swimming course is tight, making it very difficult for young athletes to swim. Adults need to know how to sight (keep their eyes on the water surface to observe the swimming course) or they will get very tired because the waves will push them far away. I consider this to be the most difficult swimming course in the Aqua Warriors tournaments this year.”

On September 27, the two events Kids Aqua Warriors (150m swim, 1km run) and Junior Aqua Warriors (300m swim, 2km run) will witness the competition of young athletes, aged 5-8 and 9-11 years old respectively.
The second competition day (September 28) will feature four events, including Ultra Aqua Warriors (5km swim, 21km run), Full Aqua Warriors (3km swim, 15km run), Olympic Aqua Warriors (1.5km swim, 10km run) and Sprint Aqua Warriors (750m swim, 5km run). These are all exciting events that promise fierce, dramatic competition between athletes.
Notably, in the Ultra Aqua Warriors Solo event, for the first time athletes were allowed to have a pacer in the 21km run, which was a unique highlight of the tournament.
