The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the Ministry of Justice to support the naturalization of Vietnamese goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong signed Official Dispatch No. 5226/BVHTTDL-TDTTVN to the Ministry of Justice requesting support for Vietnamese citizenship for overseas Vietnamese football players.

The document stated that the success of Vietnamese Football in recent times is the recognition of the attention of the Party, State, Government leaders and Vietnamese fans for Football. To continue and achieve the important goals of the national men's Football team in international football tournaments such as: Asian Championship, World Cup Qualifiers, Southeast Asian Championship.

After the process of monitoring and evaluating the professional expertise of the recent Vietnam Professional Football season, the Vietnam Football Federation and Mr. Kim Sang Sik (Head Coach of the national team) proposed to naturalize Vietnamese-American player Patrick Le Giang, who is playing for the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club managed by Ho Chi Minh City Football Joint Stock Company, in order to supplement the national football team's strength in the coming years. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism respectfully requests the Ministry of Justice to support the procedure for naturalizing Vietnamese-American player Patrik Le Giang.

During his time playing in Vietnam, Patrik Le Giang has played for Hanoi Police Club and Ho Chi Minh City Police since 2023 until now as a Goalkeeper.
