Many sections of Thang Long Boulevard's service roads and underpasses are still deeply flooded.

TPO - On the afternoon of September 12, some sections of the Thang Long Boulevard's service roads and underpasses were still flooded, affecting traffic. Motorbikes were directed to use the emergency lane on the highway to get through the flooded section.

On September 12, the weather was sunny and many areas of Thang Long Boulevard had less water drained.

However, the underpass area No. 3 and the service road opposite the Sunhouse building area are still deeply flooded.

At flooded locations and points, Hanoi Drainage One Member Limited Liability Company has arranged traffic flow according to the plan to guide people to ensure safety.

Although authorities have placed warning signs and traffic diversions from a distance, some vehicles still drive through flooded areas.

Some vehicles were hesitant and turned around to avoid the deep flooded section.

Cars must stay close to the median strip to avoid flooding.

People wade through water to retrieve belongings after falling off motorbikes in a deeply flooded area on the boulevard.

Currently, the area has 4 residential underpasses that are still flooded: residential underpasses 3, 5, 6 and residential underpass 4 (Km9 + 656).

At underpass area number 5, flood water remains about 1 meter high.

At underpass number 6, vehicles can move when the water recedes and is only about half the wheel deep.

Due to flooding on both sides of Thang Long Avenue and many residential underpasses, the Hanoi Department of Transport has developed a traffic diversion plan to allow motorbikes and buses to go onto the expressway lane (a road reserved for cars) to avoid flooding.

Authorities recommend that motorcyclists drive at the correct speed and lane on Thang Long Highway and strictly comply with highway entrance and exit signs.
