Tran Thanh's strange sister

"When Sister Falls, I Lift You Up" has just released a teaser, revealing a story about family conflict - a popular topic on Vietnamese screens. Uyen An's appearance in the cast has attracted attention.

Sister Fall, I Lift You Up was directed by Vu Thanh Vinh. Before that, he was known for his debut film, Hai Muoi (2024). The film earned over 40.5 billion VND.

Returning with a new film project, Vu Thanh Vinh tells the story of an incense-making family in Tay Ninh - where the childhood of two sisters Thuong (Le Khanh) and Luc (Thuan Nguyen) was disrupted after the loss of their parents.

Since then, Thuong has had to shoulder the responsibility of raising and protecting her younger brother. Growing up in deprived conditions, Thuong was still brave and determined to change her life. After becoming successful, she wanted Luc to also follow the path that she had "prepared". That imposition unintentionally created many conflicts and incidents, pushing the two further and further apart.

The newly released teaser revealed the conflict between the main characters. At the birthday party, which was also the anniversary of their parents' death, Thuong and Luc appeared tense, which soon led to an argument. The younger brother vented all his frustration when he exclaimed: "What is it that you don't forbid?", with a pained, torn expression.

It is easy to see that the central issue of Chi Ngan Em Nang is family conflict, a topic that has always been welcomed on Vietnamese screens. Sharing about his role, Thuan Nguyen said he felt pressured when having to express the character's complex emotions. On the one hand, Luc opposes his biological sister's "toxic" way of loving. On the other hand, he also has to stand up strongly to protect his girlfriend (Uyen An) from the bitter, sarcastic words from Thuong.

Uyen An's appearance in the film attracted attention. The actress transformed into a girl with a strong appearance but an innocent and naive personality. In addition, the film also features Quoc Truong, People's Artist Ta Minh Tam, Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh... The work started filming in early June and is expected to be released in October 2025.
