Facebook confirms black and blue logo is a "technical error"

Recently, Facebook has officially spoken out about the sudden change of its application icon to dark blue.

According to 9to5Mac , many Facebook users were shocked by the sudden change of the application icon on iPhone, with a new blue-black design. However, Facebook has officially confirmed that this is just a technical error and not a new rebranding campaign.

Facebook admits the icon change was due to a technical issue

According to Business Insider , Meta's communications representative Dave Arnold said: "This was a technical issue and has been resolved. Users will see the fix when they update the app."

Facebook’s new logo was a big departure from the traditional blue and white design and was not well received by users. Instead of the familiar blue background and white icon, the new design has a black background and a blue icon.

This Facebook issue reminds many people of a new feature on iOS 18. When switching to dark or light interface, the application icons also change style. However, the blue-black Facebook logo appears on iOS 17 as well as does not change when users switch between modes on iOS 18.

The latest version of the Facebook app with a fixed icon is now available on the App Store. Users can download it to fix this issue.
