The working delegation came to survey the planting sites of new tree varieties and talked with farmers and representatives of ornamental flower growing cooperatives in Sa Dec ward.
According to statistics of Sa Dec Ward People's Committee, the area of ornamental flowers is more than 946 hectares with more than 2,000 varieties, with 4,000 households participating in production, business, and tourism services. Currently, about 100 hectares of ornamental flowers have been planted to serve Tet and festivals.
The ward has placed orders to serve the 2nd Sa Dec Ornamental Flower Festival with a total quantity of about 140,000 baskets, of which flowers for Tet are about 246,600 baskets. Of which, traditional raspberry chrysanthemums are 30,000 baskets, colored raspberry chrysanthemums are 22,400 baskets, pico chrysanthemums are 12,500 baskets, other types of flowers are 100,000 baskets.

Mr. Dang Quang Giau - representative of the Tan An Ornamental Flower Cooperative - proposed that the locality should have a plan for flower growing areas so that flowers are available year-round, so that visitors can always see, visit, and take pictures of flowers.
"In addition, regarding traffic infrastructure, roads need to be expanded and cleared, because when Tet comes, the roads are always crowded, and more youth union members are needed to help guide tourists. Open more nighttime entertainment and dining services, and electric car services to pick up and drop off guests," said Mr. Giau.
Talking with farmers, Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee - acknowledged the opinions of farmers and representatives of Sa Dec ornamental flower growing cooperatives, and emphasized the need to proactively produce, improve the quality of varieties, and propagate new flower varieties and flowers typical of Sa Dec.
"I request that relevant sectors quickly take note and direct and prioritize support for farmers' and businesses' activities regarding licenses, creating favorable conditions for business, production and transportation of goods according to regulations.
The festival's activities are calculated to have "key" activities every day, calling on the community to participate, overcoming the limitations of the first time, having new points to surpass the successes of the first time, creating a "boost" for tourism in Dong Thap province in 2025 and the Tet flower market in 2026.
The 2nd Sa Dec Ornamental Flower Festival in Dong Thap province is expected to be held for 9 days, from the end of December to the beginning of January 2026, including 21 main activities and 15 supporting activities.
