Accordingly, Dong Thap province will invest in 42 schools with a total budget of more than 2,097 billion VND. Of which, central government support is more than 1,102 billion VND, the remaining nearly 995 billion VND from the provincial budget.
Schools were built in communes and wards in border areas such as Thuong Phuoc, Tan Ho Co, Tan Hong, Tan Thanh, Hong Ngu and Thuong Lac.
Of which, the province invested in 6 inter-level schools with 26 classes or more, one school per commune, serving over 1,000 students.
Each school has an area of 5 hectares or more, including classrooms, functional rooms, sports areas, living service blocks, auxiliary items and synchronous equipment.
Schools are fully invested in facilities according to standards to implement boarding and semi-boarding.
For the remaining 36 schools, the investment scale includes 182 classrooms, 413 functional rooms, auxiliary items, sports areas, equipment and compensation for site clearance and expansion.
After completion, 100% of schools in the Dong Thap border area will meet the minimum and level 1 facility standards; 59/71 schools will meet level 2; 100% of schools will meet national standards, of which 10/71 schools will meet level 1 national standards, and 61 schools will meet level 2 national standards.
Dong Thap province has 6 land border communes and wards under the new administrative unit, with 25 kindergartens, 29 primary schools, 15 secondary schools, 2 primary - secondary schools, 3 high schools, and 1 secondary - secondary school. The total number of students is 39,708 with 1,263 classes, 2,544 teachers, managers and staff.
Currently, in the communes and wards, there are no boarding schools, only semi-boarding mainly at preschool and primary levels.
