Linking agriculture, industry and trade in Duc Trong

Duc Trong commune has a large population and area, is a place where many advantages in terms of geographical location, infrastructure, raw material areas and markets converge. The whole commune currently has more than 5,300 hectares of high-tech agriculture . Many vegetable, flower and fruit tree areas have invested in greenhouse systems, net houses, drip irrigation, automatic fertilization, initially forming smart agricultural production areas. The average production value reaches 400 - 450 million VND/ha/year, with some models reaching over 1 billion VND/ha/year. Agricultural production has gradually increased in value and efficiency. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tao, in Duc Trong commune, has 2,000 ^m2 of land for producing black fungus, lingzhi mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, etc. Ms. Tao said, after merging the commune, realizing that there are many opportunities for development, I am gathering farmers in the area to form a mushroom production cooperative, build brands and connect consumption.

In addition, the commune has developed a chain of links with 2,172 participating households, helping to stabilize the output of agricultural products. Products such as vegetables, tubers, flowers, fruits, etc. are available at many supermarkets and wholesale markets in and outside the province, many of which meet OCOP, VietGAP, and GlobalGAP standards.

The entire Duc Trong commune has more than 5,300 hectares of high-tech agricultural production.

The development of agriculture has led to an increase in the demand for post-harvest processing and preservation. Duc Trong commune currently has two large industrial parks, Phu Hoi and Phu Binh, of which Phu Hoi Industrial Park alone has attracted 32 investment projects (11 FDI projects), with a total registered capital of more than 2,200 billion VND and 72 million USD. Key industries include: agricultural product processing, instant coffee production, fruit juice, frozen products, silk weaving, garment, wood processing, construction materials... The infrastructure of industrial parks continues to be improved, creating favorable conditions for businesses to expand production. The processing industry not only creates added value for local agricultural products but also creates jobs for rural workers, contributes to economic restructuring, increases budget revenue and forms a driving force for sustainable development.

Duc Trong commune is a major transit point with the advantage of being located on Highway 20 and near Lien Khuong airport. In the commune center, the high-quality agricultural wholesale market system, consuming about 445 tons of agricultural products every day, is a major consumption channel for the entire old Duc Trong district and neighboring areas. The whole commune currently has more than 4,000 commercial and service establishments, from traditional markets, restaurants, hotels to bank branches, agricultural supply stores, logistics services. The commune government is actively calling for investment in modern commercial centers and supermarkets, developing tourism services, restaurants, entertainment, gradually transforming the rural trade model towards professionalism and civilization.

Mr. Do Trung Nghia - Vice Chairman of Duc Trong Commune People's Committee said that in the development orientation, Duc Trong commune identified 3 economic pillars: high-tech agriculture, processing industry and trade - services must be closely linked, complementing each other to build a comprehensive and substantial new countryside. "The program of building new countryside and economic development in Duc Trong is not separated from each sector but is integrated into an overall development strategy, with agriculture as the root, industry as the driving force, and trade as the breakthrough. The program serves the goals of increasing income, reducing poverty sustainably, improving infrastructure, protecting the environment, developing health education...", Mr. Nghia said.

Duc Trong Commune aims to reduce the poverty rate to less than 1% by 2030, over 99% of households will use clean water, the waste collection rate will reach 99%, and 95% of people will participate in health insurance. These indicators reflect the overall quality of life, the core goal of new rural construction.
