“Meeting the Dead” won the Silver Medal at the 2024 National Cai Luong Festival

The 2024 National Cai Luong Festival closed after 20 days (from October 25 to November 15) with the participation of 29 Cai Luong art units nationwide, including 11 public art units and 18 socialized art units.

Attracting 33 plays, gathering over 1,000 artists, actors and musicians, this festival is considered rich and diverse in themes. Specifically, there are 2 plays on the theme of national cultural and artistic celebrities; 11 plays on historical themes; 7 plays on revolutionary war themes and 13 plays on contemporary themes.

Through the process of "hard work and suffering" in creative labor, artists and actors have shown many performance styles, conveying attractive content. "Each play is like a flower with fresh, different colors, very difficult to mix, creating a strange, unique appearance of the Cai Luong theater stage in the National Cai Luong Festival - 2024 in Can Tho City", said Chairman of the Art Council Nguyen Sy Chuc.

Artists and colleagues congratulated the actors of Thanh Hoa Traditional Arts Theater after their performance of the reformed opera "Meeting the Dead Again".

Coming to this festival, Thanh Hoa Traditional Arts Theater participated in the play "Meeting the Dead" (Author: Dr. Nguyen Dang Chuong; Cai luong adaptation: People's Artist Vu Trong Hai; Director: People's Artist Trieu Trung Kien)

The Arts Council awarded Silver Medals for the play to representatives of 8 art units.

The Organizing Committee selected 4 best plays to award Gold Medals, 8 plays were awarded Silver Medals. The play “Meeting the Dead” by Thanh Hoa Traditional Arts Theater won the Silver Medal.

Besides the success of the play, 3 artists of Thanh Hoa Traditional Arts Theater won acting awards. They are Luong Thuy Hoa (as Bao Quyen); People's Artist Vu Trong Hai (as Tran Duc) won the Gold Medal; Pham Thi Ngoc in the role of Thuy Trang won the Silver Medal.

Artists received individual Gold Medals.

The 2024 National Cai Luong Festival is a professional activity to discover and honor works, plays and individuals with achievements in the process of working and creating art of Cai Luong stage. At the same time, it is an opportunity for artists and actors to exchange, learn experiences, cultivate knowledge, improve professional qualifications and quality of Cai Luong art performances to serve the people.
