Northern pig price
On the morning of October 6, some northern provinces adjusted the price of live pigs down by 1,000 - 2,000 VND. Bac Ninh is currently at the highest level in the region at 56,000 VND/kg. On the contrary, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien and Son La all decreased to 54,000 VND/kg - the lowest level in the region. Other provinces commonly traded around 55,000 VND/kg, reflecting a slight downward trend compared to last week.

Pig price in Central Highlands
The Central Highlands region kept the same price this morning, commonly in the range of 51,000 - 54,000 VND/kg. Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri and Hue are currently recorded at 53,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Ha Tinh, Da Nang and Quang Ngai are at 52,000 VND/kg.
In Gia Lai, the lowest price in the region was recorded at 51,000 VND/kg, while Lam Dong reached a peak of 55,000 VND/kg. Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa remained stable at around 54,000 VND/kg. This development shows that the regional market remains balanced, without strong fluctuations.
Southern pig price
In the South, the price of live pigs continued to be stable this morning. Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho purchased around 55,000 VND/kg, while Dong Thap and Vinh Long recorded the lowest price in the region at 54,000 VND/kg.
Dong Nai and Tay Ninh still maintain high prices of 56,000 VND/kg. Long An and An Giang commonly have 55,000 VND/kg. The average price in the South is 55,100 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous day.
On the morning of October 2, the Steering Committee for African Swine Fever Prevention and Control in Tran Van Thoi Commune, Ca Mau Province held a meeting to deploy disease prevention and control work in the area in 2025, according to the Tran Van Thoi Commune Information Portal, Ca Mau Province.
According to the report of the Steering Committee for African Swine Fever Prevention and Control in Tran Van Thoi Commune, the commune currently has a total herd of 5,963 pigs being raised. From September 10, 2025 to October 1, the commune destroyed 134 pigs weighing 7,964 kg.
To respond to African swine fever, the Steering Committee has advised and submitted to the Commune People's Committee to issue a Decision to announce African swine fever in the area, and at the same time coordinated with relevant units to strictly implement the Central and Provincial directives and guidelines on disease prevention and control.
In addition, the locality is taking measures to contain and control the epidemic; organizing propaganda in many forms, advising and guiding livestock farmers to disinfect, sterilize, raise livestock in a biosafety manner, and protect the environment according to veterinary and environmental regulations; at the same time, inspecting and monitoring to promptly detect and strictly handle violations according to the law.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Da Khoa, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Van Thoi Commune, directed to continue to propagate disease prevention and control. "Any units and hamlets that are negligent in disease prevention and control must immediately report to the Steering Committee for handling."
The leaders of Tran Van Thoi commune also requested the Steering Committee to divide into many groups to inspect and handle violations if any; review, classify, identify and evaluate the developments of the epidemic to have a prevention plan. For hamlets and residential areas, it is necessary to establish teams and groups to coordinate with veterinary medicine to propagate to the people.
