Pepper price today September 15, 2025 on the world market

At the end of the most recent trading session, world pepper prices recorded consistent movements in the market.

According to the International Pepper Community (IPC), the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 remained stable at USD 6,500/ton. Similarly, the price of Malaysian black pepper ASTA remained stable at USD 9,700/ton.

Meanwhile, the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper remained at 7,074 USD/ton.

Vietnam's black pepper export price remains unchanged, with 500g/l reaching 6,600 USD/ton; 550g/l reaching 6,800 USD/ton.

At the same time of survey, the price of Indonesian Muntok white pepper reached 10,024 USD/ton.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged at 9,250 USD/ton.

In particular, Malaysian ASTA white pepper continued to move sideways at 12,900 USD/ton.

In general, the world pepper market is showing signs of recovery after a period of stagnation, with export prices of major producing countries increasing simultaneously in August. In particular, Vietnam's black pepper export price is leading the world market.

Vietnam's strong increase in export prices and leading the world market strengthens its leading export position, bringing great competitive advantage.

Challenges from tariff policies (such as the US imposing tariffs on Brazil) can also be an opportunity for Vietnamese pepper to expand its market share in other markets, such as the way the Tomé-Açu Cooperative (Brazil) is seeking to penetrate the Chinese and Indian markets.

Update on domestic pepper prices on September 15

Updated latest pepper prices today in the Central Highlands and Southeast provinces fluctuate between 148,000 - 151,000 VND/kg.

According to the survey, pepper prices in the provinces did not record any change compared to the previous session.

Specifically, in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces, pepper is purchased at 151,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is at 150,000 VND/kg.

In Gia Lai and Binh Phuoc provinces, pepper prices today are both at 148,000 VND/kg.

Although domestic prices have decreased slightly at times, Vietnam’s export prices have increased sharply. This shows the gap between domestic and international markets, reflecting strong demand from importing countries.

After a period of decline, US pepper imports have recovered strongly, reaching more than 9,183 tons in June, a significant increase compared to the previous month and the same period in 2024. Vietnam continues to be the main supplier, accounting for more than 80% of the market share. Import demand is forecast to increase sharply in the fourth quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026 to serve the festival season, creating a great driving force for pepper prices.

Major pepper producing countries like Vietnam tend to keep inventories to cope with market fluctuations, instead of selling massively. This helps balance supply and demand and maintain stable prices, even increasing them.

According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), favorable weather in the Central Highlands is helping pepper plants bloom well, promising a bumper crop. Vietnam's output in the 2025-2026 crop year could increase by about 10%, reaching 190,000 - 193,000 tons.

Despite complex market fluctuations due to tariff policies, macro factors such as recovering demand, stable output and smart inventory strategies are creating a positive picture for the pepper industry. Global pepper prices, especially Vietnamese pepper prices, are forecast to continue to increase in the second half of 2025, bringing many opportunities for businesses and farmers.
