World pepper prices today
On the morning of October 22, 2025, pepper prices in the world and domestic markets recorded slight fluctuations. Specifically:
Indonesia: Pepper price in Lampung reached 0.01 USD/ton, currently at 7,229 USD/ton; Muntok white pepper increased 0.03 USD/ton, reaching 10,085 USD/ton.
Brazil and Malaysia: Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 anchored at USD 6,100/mt; Malaysian black pepper ASTA reached USD 9,500/mt, while Malaysian white pepper ASTA touched USD 12,500/mt.
Vietnam: Prices of 500g/l and 550g/l black pepper range from USD 6,400/tonne to USD 6,600/tonne. Vietnam ASTA white pepper is currently at USD 9,050/tonne.
The slight increase in white pepper prices in Malaysia and domestically reflects positive export demand. Future prospects suggest that prices may remain stable or increase slightly if production is limited and demand from Europe, especially Germany – a major importer of Vietnamese pepper, is maintained.

The recent fluctuations in world pepper prices are due to fluctuations in domestic currency and supply conditions. However, in the context of increasingly complex plant diseases and increasingly severe climate change, maintaining pepper productivity and quality is becoming difficult and requires a systematic investment solution for varieties. Pepper prices are forecast to remain high in the coming time due to the decline in global supply, while world market demand is showing signs of recovery.
The Import-Export Department believes that in the short term, domestic pepper prices will likely remain in the range of 145,000 - 155,000 VND/kg. If supply continues to tighten, prices may rise above 155,000 VND/kg by the end of October 2025. Conversely, if farmers sell massively at the beginning of the new harvest, prices may be adjusted down slightly.
In the long term, the pepper market still has many positive signals as Vietnam continues to maintain its position as the world's largest pepper exporter, while factors such as climate change, rising production costs and recovering global consumer demand are creating conditions for pepper prices to remain high.
