SJC gold bar price exceeds 121 million VND/tael, USD price hits ceiling

World gold prices went down but SJC gold bar prices suddenly increased sharply at the end of today, July 3, to 121.3 million VND/tael, the highest in the past two months.

Currently, the difference between buying and selling prices of SJC gold bars is 2 million VND/tael.

World gold price decreases, domestic price increases

At 8:00 p.m. today, July 3, the world gold price dropped to 3,346 USD/ounce. Converted according to the exchange rate listed at the bank, the world gold price is equivalent to 106.28 million VND/tael.

Compared to yesterday, the world gold price has decreased by about 13 USD/ounce, equivalent to 413,000 VND/tael. However, the domestic gold price has been pushed up due to the increase in exchange rate.

Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed the price of SJC gold bars at 121.3 million VND/tael (sell) and 119.3 million VND/tael (buy), an increase of 600,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday.

The selling price of 9999 gold rings at SJC Company also increased to 117 million VND/tael, buying at 114.5 million VND/tael.

Similarly, PNJ and Bao Tin Minh Chau companies also increased the selling price of gold bars to 121.3 million VND/tael - equal to the selling price of SJC gold bars at SJC Company.

At Mi Hong gold shop, the selling price of SJC gold bars increased to 121 million VND/tael, buying price 119.8 million VND/tael.

Compared to the converted world gold price, the price of SJC gold bars is 15 million VND/tael higher, while the price of 9999 gold rings is 10.72 million VND/tael higher.

This is still a very high difference compared to the Prime Minister 's directive to reduce the difference between domestic and world gold prices to around 1-2%.

The State Bank announced today's central exchange rate at 25,091 VND/USD, an increase of 21 VND/USD compared to yesterday. With a margin of +/-5%, commercial banks are allowed to list USD buying and selling prices within the range of 23,837 - 26,345 VND/USD.

According to records, today's USD/VND exchange rate, banks unexpectedly listed the USD selling price at the ceiling price: 26,345 VND/USD, an increase of 22 VND/USD compared to yesterday.

Vietcombank listed the USD buying and selling price at 25,975 - 26,345 VND/USD. Meanwhile, BIDV listed the USD buying price higher, at 26,006 VND/USD.

Eximbank listed the USD buying price at 25,990 VND/USD, and the selling price at the ceiling: 26,345 VND/USD.

Thus, compared to the beginning of the year, the exchange rate has increased by 3.1%.

In the free market, the USD buying and selling price is at 26,395 - 26,495 VND/USD (buy - sell), an increase of 25 VND/USD compared to yesterday.
