The program aims to train quick response skills in emergency situations such as anaphylactic shock, respiratory arrest, and affirms the commitment to put the safety of the person receiving the injection first in every operation of the Long Chau medical team.
Vaccination safety - an important factor in public health care
According to data from WHO, in Vietnam, the number of children with “zero doses of vaccine” has decreased from 274,000 in 2023 to 13,000 in 2024, equivalent to a reduction of more than 95%. This significant reduction shows that more Vietnamese children are being protected from vaccine-preventable diseases. This shows that vaccine coverage is increasing, but also places stricter requirements on safe vaccination procedures.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Health , vaccination safety not only includes injecting the correct dose and technique, but also includes storing and transporting vaccines under the right conditions, along with the ability of the medical team to promptly handle adverse reactions. With the nature of emergency situations that happen quickly and dangerously, every second in emergency care can determine survival.

The skills learned have been put into practice. The medical team at Long Chau vaccination centers has successfully handled many critical emergency cases, demonstrating professionalism and courage. A typical case is a male patient who was stung by a wasp, leading to grade 3 anaphylactic shock - a life-threatening reaction - which was discovered, treated and transferred to the hospital promptly by doctors.
