On the morning of October 18, gasoline prices increased slightly, Brent oil increased by 0.23 USD, equivalent to 0.38%, to 61.29 USD/barrel; WTI oil also only increased by 0.08 USD, equivalent to 0.14%, to 57.54 USD/barrel.
However, world oil prices recorded a weekly decrease of nearly 3% and are at their lowest price in about 5.5 months.
According to some analysts, the risk factors in the fuel market are gradually being eliminated, reducing price volatility in the market. Specifically, the US President and the Russian President agreed to hold a new summit on the war in Ukraine. This development coincides with the time when the Ukrainian President is expected to visit the White House to promote a new military aid package, while the US continues to pressure India and China to stop buying Russian oil. Previously, a rare peace agreement in the Middle East was also signed.

This week’s decline in oil prices was also affected by escalating trade tensions between the US and China, which raised concerns about an economic recession and falling energy demand, along with data showing a sharp increase in US fuel inventories.
Oversupply concerns are limiting gains, keeping oil prices low this week.
Domestically, the updated reference price of finished petroleum products on the Singapore market as of this morning shows that world prices are lower than domestic prices. It is forecasted that domestic petroleum prices may decrease across the board next week. In the price adjustment session on Thursday (October 16), domestic retail petroleum prices were changed in opposite directions, with gasoline prices increasing and oil prices decreasing.
On the morning of October 18, the retail price of gasoline in the market of region 1 as announced by Petrolimex was as follows: RON 95-V gasoline 20,400 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline 19,900 VND/liter, E10 RON 95-III biofuel 19,680 VND/liter, E5 RON 92-II biofuel 19,220 VND/liter, diesel oil 18,840 VND/liter, kerosene 18,400 VND/liter, mazut oil 16,800 VND/kg./.
