'Strong Vietnam Vung Tau 2024' marathon brings together a strong lineup of beauty queens and kings

At the press conference to launch the "Strong Vietnam Vung Tau 2024" marathon held on May 31, the Organizing Committee (OC) affirmed that this is the largest integrated event promoting culture, sports and tourism in Vung Tau City this year, organized by Sen Vang Company in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Athletics Federation (HAF), Vung Tau City People's Committee, under the direction of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and the professional board of the Vietnam Athletics Federation.

The event aims to encourage the spirit of sports , improve people's health, promote and develop tourism in Vung Tau City, especially with the participation of beauty queens, runners-up, and top contestants of Mr. World Vietnam 2024. The tournament has many distances of 5 km, 10 km, 21 km and 42 km for contestants to choose according to their abilities.

Head of the Organizing Committee, director Hoang Nhat Nam said that in addition to Miss Luong Thuy Linh as ambassador, the race has up to 20 beauty queens and runners participating: "Many beauty queens and runners are passionate about running, they will participate as runners. In addition, other beauties participate with the purpose of encouraging the runner spirit, spreading Strong Vietnam to sports lovers in general and marathons in particular.

Mr. Nam said that Strong Vietnam also has the participation of international guests, 80 contestants of Mr. World 2024. This makes a difference, attracting the attention of domestic runners: "With the beautiful route of Vung Tau this time, with the sea on one side and the flower mountains on the other, the hospitality of the people will satisfy the runners."

At the press conference, Mr. Huynh Duc Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, said: "In 2024, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province will organize about 100 cultural and sports programs. For running alone, the Department of Culture and Sports will coordinate with businesses and the General Department of Sports and Physical Training to organize 10 large and small tournaments. Through Strong Vietnam this time, we hope to promote tourism , potential images, and strengths of local people."

Mr. Nguyen Trung Hinh, Vice President of Vietnam Federation of Athletics Federations, General Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Athletics Federations, commented that the Strong Vietnam race has a sustainable plan: "The difference of this race is that in addition to runners, the route has the appearance of beauty queens and runners, accompanied by cultural activities. This helps Vung Tau City to be promoted the most, raising the value of the city."

The representative of the Vietnam Athletics Federation predicted that the race with more than 10,000 runners will attract more than 50,000 people to Vung Tau City due to the factor of promoting culture, locality and people.

At the same time, Mr. Nguyen Trung Hinh affirmed that the Organizing Committee will ensure all stages are well done, creating a safe and useful playground for runners, especially the best medical plan with a ratio of 1 ambulance for every 1,000 athletes. At the same time, the Organizing Committee will also have a plan to strictly check and handle the situation of using fake bibs during the race.

Mr. Hinh said: "Regarding security, we have specific routes, checkpoints, and lanes for athletes. We ensure security before, during, and after the race. We ensure that no visitors or residents get lost in the athletes' running area.

Depending on the conditions, we arrange 10-15 medical stations. Vung Tau City is a coastal area, so we have fully equipped ventilators, cardiac compression machines, mechanical impact machines, oxygen supplies, and blood pressure monitors. We have learned from previous incidents so we put the highest priority on medical issues.

Official races have a bib checking department and process. During the race, referees will detect people using fake bibs. When we detect cheating, we report it to the organizers. We will use our expertise to resolve the dishonesty.

When we detect cheating, we will send the cheater's information to other tournaments and ban them from participating. The Vietnam Badminton Federation has agreed with the Strong Vietnam Organizing Committee to apply a bib checking machine when the contestants reach the finish line."
