Cu Chi Pickleball Open 2025: Sports spread community responsibility

(NLDO) - A large-scale Pickleball tournament under the CCTour system will be held for the first time in Tan An Hoi commune (former Cu Chi district) - Ho Chi Minh City in December 2025.

Not simply a competition venue for amateur and professional players, the Cu Chi Open Pickleball Tournament also has a strong social atmosphere by combining sports competitions with activities to share and support the community.

Large scale – diverse content

In Vietnam, Pickleball has only appeared in recent years but has attracted a large number of players in many localities. The organization of the Cu Chi Open Pickleball Tournament 2025 is considered to contribute to helping this new sport movement take a step forward on its development journey.

"Vietnamese people really like sports that are light on confrontation but focus on tactics and agility. Pickleball has all those elements, so I believe the popularity of this sport is just a matter of time," said Mr. Duong Huu Phuc, Head of the tournament's Organizing Committee.

Pickleball spreads passion for sports

According to information from the Organizing Committee, the tournament will include diverse competitions for all levels from professional to amateur. The best players of the season will enter the CCTour Super Cup - where only one name will be crowned absolute champion.

The tournament also dedicated a special stage to the Miss CCTour beauty contest, to honor the healthy beauty, confidence and competitive style of the female athletes. The total prize value is estimated at over 150 million VND in cash and many gifts from sponsors.

Cu Chi has long been known as a land of rich history and tradition. In recent years, this locality has been changing strongly with tourism activities - experiences associated with traditional culture. Bringing a modern sports tournament like Pickleball here is considered a smart move, both creating a healthy playground for the people and promoting the image of Cu Chi to domestic and foreign tourists.

"We hope this tournament will be a bridge to bring grassroots sports closer to people's lives. When people see the joy in each match, they will automatically want to participate, spreading the healthy movement to live better" - a representative of the local government shared.

The biggest difference of the Cu Chi Open Pickleball Tournament 2025 is the humanitarian factor. The Organizing Committee announced that it will allocate part of the budget to award 50 scholarships to poor but studious students in the locality. "A sports tournament is only truly complete when it brings value to the community. We want athletes to enter the field with a competitive spirit not only for the cup but also for social responsibility" - Mr. Duong Huu Phuc emphasized.

Combining sports with community activities rich in sharing

In addition to expertise, the Organizing Committee also plans to coordinate with tourism businesses to organize tours to visit Cu Chi tunnels, traditional craft villages, combined with local culinary experiences for athletes and fans. In addition, activities to develop a series of souvenir products under the CCTour brand, from jerseys, hats, accessories to display items - towards a self-operated sports tournament model, creating revenue to reinvest in the following seasons.
