The first director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital received the "Lifetime Dedication" award

(Dan Tri) - Professor Nguyen Dinh Hoi, the first Director of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, has just been awarded the "Lifetime Dedication" award for his contributions to Vietnam's medical career.

At the closing ceremony of the 24th Asian Hospital Management Conference, organized by the Ministry of Health in coordination with the Asian Hospital Management Association, taking place on the evening of September 11, the Organizing Committee awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" to People's Teacher, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hoi.

This is a prestigious award, a special recognition from the Ministry of Health and the Asian Hospital Management Association for those who have made important contributions to regional healthcare.

Professor Nguyen Dinh Hoi is the former Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the first Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. He graduated from Hanoi Medical University in 1960.

From 1993 to 2007, he was appointed as the Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy. During his days of taking on the heavy responsibility of management, Professor Nguyen Dinh Hoi always maintained the spirit of a teacher and a physician.

During his career, he was Chairman of the University and Graduate Admissions Council, supervised 23 PhD theses, 9 level II specialist theses, 12 master's theses and many level I specialist and residency theses.

He is also the editor of 10 textbooks and 5 monographs; the head of many state- and ministerial-level research projects and published more than 70 scientific reports.

Professor Nguyen Dinh Hoi is also Chairman of the Science and Technology Council of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, Head of the Hepatobiliary Surgery Center of the Center for Intensive Medicine and Chairman of many domestic and international medical and pharmaceutical conferences.

Professor Nguyen Dinh Hoi's great contributions have been recognized with many noble awards, such as: Second-class Anti-American Resistance Medal, Second-class Labor Medal, People's Teacher title, and Science and Technology Innovation Award.

In 2004, he received the Ton That Tung Award in 2004 for his great contributions to the development of Vietnamese surgery.

The 24th Asian Hospital Management Conference attracted over 1,500 delegates from over 30 countries, including speakers, managers, leaders of leading hospitals in the region and world-renowned healthcare support solution providers.

The conference aims to help hospital owners, CEOs, directors, physicians and healthcare leaders gain insights into healthcare management thinking, patient safety, patient experience, healthcare worker experience, best practices and solutions from around the world, and create a networking forum in Asia.
