From 3:00 p.m. on August 8, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND901/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by VND930/liter. At the same time, diesel oil decreased by VND737/liter; kerosene decreased by VND684/liter and fuel oil decreased by VND858/kg.

According to the joint decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, from 3:00 p.m., the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 901 VND/liter, to 20,715 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by 930 VND/liter, the new price is 21,673 VND/liter; diesel oil decreased by 737 VND/liter, to 19,141 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 684 VND to 19,411 VND/liter, and mazut oil decreased by 858 VND, to 16,028 VND/kg.
During this operating period, the joint ministries continue not to set aside or use the Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products.
A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) said that as of the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,079 billion VND, an increase of 1 billion VND compared to the recent announcement.
This is the fifth consecutive reduction in domestic gasoline prices. Most recently (August 1), E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND284/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by VND281/liter; diesel oil decreased by VND316/liter; kerosene decreased by VND231/liter, and fuel oil decreased by VND292/kg.
According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the time for managing petroleum prices will be shortened from 10 days to 7 days, implemented every Thursday.
In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it is implemented as follows: If Thursday coincides with the first day of the holiday, the time for managing the petrol price will be implemented on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday coincides with the remaining holidays, the time for managing the petrol price will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday.
