Hanoi organizes "Festival Thang Long - Hanoi 2025" for the first time

The opening ceremony of “Festival Thang Long- Hanoi 2025” will take place on the evening of November 7 at Thang Long Imperial Citadel and close on the evening of November 16 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.

At the press conference to inform about the Program held on October 21, Mr. Dao Xuan Dung, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Hanoi Party Committee, said: In the work programs, Hanoi always puts culture and people as the center of the development driving force of the Capital, taking culture and people as the endogenous strength to develop the city sustainably.

“ The Thang Long-Hanoi Festival 2025 aims to attract tourists and to properly implement the directive: Hanoi is not only a political center but also a cultural center. Hanoi culture is a place where the cultures of all regions of the country crystallize and converge.

At the same time, Hanoi's responsibility is to spread Hanoi culture to develop Vietnamese culture," said Mr. Dao Xuan Dung.

Therefore, the Thang Long-Hanoi Festival 2025 aims to spread the image of the capital with a strong identity, representing Vietnamese culture, so that visitors feel that coming to Hanoi is coming to Vietnam, contributing to educating traditions, patriotism, and national pride through heritage and works of art.

Ms. Le Thi Anh Mai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said this is an opportunity for Hanoi to demonstrate its spirit of integration, creativity and responsibility in preserving heritage - turning traditional cultural values into new inspiration for art, tourism and modern life.

At the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, visitors will experience a series of activities called Heritage Convergence , displaying traditional craft products from the three capitals (Thang Long, Hue, Hoa Lu) and the Central Highlands provinces; introducing Hanoi's culinary culture and flavors, and creative craft and design activities at Ho Van.

In addition, there are also programs taking place here: Ao Dai fashion show on the heritage road ; Thanh Tan Hanoi painting exhibition; Hanoi art program; Heritage and future exhibition; International scientific seminar on East-West educational and cultural heritage; Red River art program calling the great forest .

At the Hanoi Museum, the public will be able to visit the special exhibition Archaeological Discoveries from the Vuon Chuoi relic and the Puppet Show Space - where folk puppetry is renewed through performances and interactive experiences. In particular, the highlight of the international art program Eternal Moment with the participation of Swiss composer Dominique Barthassat and creative community groups in Hanoi.

Awakening heritage - lighting the fire of creativity for sustainable development

That is the Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival 2025 (held annually for the 4th time) from November 7-9 at Hanoi Museum and Hoan Kiem Lake area with many activities honoring the beauty of traditional Ao Dai associated with the cultural and tourism values of the Capital.

There is also the Hanoi Puppetry Festival and the discussion on Preserving and promoting the heritage of puppetry in contemporary life ; the play Thang Long Capital and the program Ngoc Son Mysterious Night .

In addition, the Festival also celebrates the 10th anniversary of the tug-of-war ritual and game being recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, with the International Workshop on a Decade of Protection and Promotion of Tug-of-war Ritual and Game, along with exchange activities and tug-of-war performances with the participation of international delegations (Korea and some countries) and 10 heritage practicing communities from provinces and cities in the country (Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Lao Cai, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho and Hanoi).
