Hanoi organizes ornamental plant auction to support flood victims

Hanoi auctions ornamental plants to raise funds to support people affected by natural disasters.

According to the Head of the Hanoi Rural Development Department, Nguyen Van Chi, the first Hanoi Ornamental Plants Festival in 2024 is the first event organized by Hanoi City. The event was originally scheduled to open on the evening of September 11; however, due to the impact of floods, the Festival's opening was postponed to the evening of September 14, at the F1 racetrack (Nam Tu Liem District).

The Festival will display the quintessence of Vietnamese ornamental plants, including 1,014 works of bonsai art after being pre-selected in localities of the three regions, symbolizing 1,014 years of Thang Long - Hanoi. Of these, 70 typical works will be displayed in the central area, symbolizing the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).

In addition, there is also an area displaying works belonging to groups of ornamental plants; an area displaying and promoting bonsai works, miniature rockery works; introducing experiences with artisans creating ornamental plants, ornamental flowers, ornamental rocks, driftwood, ancient stone tanks; an area connecting and trading ornamental plants of the Capital with 3 regions...

The Festival is considered an important trade promotion activity to strengthen the linkage, production and consumption of ornamental plant products in the capital, contributing to promoting the effective implementation of the National Target Program on new rural construction associated with restructuring the agricultural sector and developing the rural economy , improving the material and spiritual life of farmers in the period 2021 - 2025.

Notably, at the 1st Hanoi Ornamental Plants Festival in 2024, the Organizing Committee will hold an auction of ornamental plants to raise funds to support people in areas affected by floods. This is a practical and meaningful activity, promoting the tradition of mutual love and mutual assistance of the Vietnamese people. Therefore, the Organizing Committee calls on artisans, businessmen, ornamental plant lovers and people to actively respond and participate in the auction event on the evening of September 14, 2024.
