In recent days, due to the impact of storm No. 3 and the rain and floods after the storm, there has been heavy rain and very heavy rain in Hanoi , the water level of Nhue River has risen.
Currently, the Nhue River dike has been submerged for many days, causing many incidents in the districts. According to forecasts, in the coming days, there is a possibility of continued heavy rain in Hanoi, which could threaten the safety of the Nhue River irrigation system.
To ensure the safety of canals and main axes of the Nhue River irrigation system, and limit damage caused by rain and storms, the Hanoi People's Committee requests the districts of Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Ha Dong, Dan Phuong, Hoai Duc, Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin, Phu Xuyen, Thanh Oai, and Ung Hoa to strictly prohibit vehicles exceeding the permitted load from traveling on the banks of canals and main axes of the Nhue River irrigation system in the area.
For rivers and canals where incidents are occurring, put up warning signs, prohibiting people and vehicles from passing through to ensure the safety of works and people's lives. Continue to strengthen on-duty and inspection to detect early risks of canal bank breaks and hydraulic works incidents.
The Hanoi People's Committee also requested the above localities to prepare adequate human resources and materials to ensure timely handling of incidents arising in the first hour according to the "4 on-site" motto, minimizing damage to production and people's lives.
Along with that, the Department of Construction is responsible for directing Hanoi Drainage One Member Co., Ltd. to operate Yen So pumping station and Thanh Liet dam in accordance with practical conditions and prescribed procedures to support lowering the water level of Nhue River, ensuring the safety of dykes, canals, and main axis of the Nhue River irrigation system.
