Ha Tinh checks the content of VNA's report related to Cau Treo International Border Gate

On July 11, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province issued a document requesting inspection and handling of the contents reflected by Vietnam News Agency related to cargo transportation activities through Cau Treo International Border Gate and in the province.

Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province Tran Bao Ha assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Police, Customs Branch of Region XI and related units and localities to research, inspect and specifically review the content reflected by Vietnam News Agency.

The document of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province clearly stated that, based on the provisions of law and the actual situation, fully perform the tasks within the authority to manage cargo transportation activities at Cau Treo border gate area and in the province, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations; strictly handle violations (if any); at the same time, respond in writing to Vietnam News Agency in accordance with regulations; complete and report the implementation results to the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province before July 20, 2025.

Previously, VNA had a series of 3 articles reflecting the situation of cars pulling trailers with multiple axle clusters of 26-28 wheels with Lao license plates (2-section vehicles) with a load capacity of 50 to over 60 tons being cleared through Cau Treo International Border Gate when circulating inland, causing damage to many roads, posing a potential risk to traffic safety.

In particular, it creates unfairness for domestic transport enterprises, negatively affecting the competitive environment of the domestic logistics market./.
