According to a VNA reporter in Havana, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Cuban news channel Canal Caribe and VTV1 channel of Vietnam Television will launch the documentary "Seeds of Happiness," recording the life stories of Vietnamese and Cuban people involved in rice farming in Los Palacios district, Pinar del Río province of Cuba.

VTV's one-hour film will be broadcast simultaneously in both countries to celebrate Vietnam's National Day, at 8:10 p.m. Vietnam time on September 2 on VTV1 and at 9:10 a.m. the same day on Canal Caribe.

“Seeds of Happiness” recounts the work in Cuba of a group of Vietnamese agricultural engineers who contributed their experience at Los Palacios to the cultivation of new rice varieties, including the CT16 hybrid rice variety, which contributed to increasing Cuba’s rice production.

According to an article published on the online newspaper Cubadebate, with the support of the Institute of Information and Social Communication, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Embassy of Vietnam in Havana, the film is a testament to the brotherhood between the Cuban and Vietnamese people, who have stood side by side in difficult times.

Through the story of rice grains, the film shows that Vietnam is not only the world's leading rice exporter, but also a nation willing to share knowledge and experience, based on the spirit of solidarity, for Cuba's food sovereignty and to build a prosperous and sustainable country.

Mr. Tu Luong, Director of Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City, who participated in the production of the film "Seeds of Happiness" , said that the broadcast of this special program by VTV is even more meaningful when the values of independence, freedom and happiness that Vietnam achieved 80 years ago are still spreading all over the world .

With direct and sincere cinematic storytelling, along with elaborate footage, photos, music and historical documents, the film promises to bring an emotional, humane and meaningful experience on the occasion of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam./.
