This morning (October 3), President of the National Assembly of People's Power, President of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernández led a high-ranking Cuban delegation to visit and work at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.
Also attending were Mr. Homero Acosta Álvarez, Secretary General of the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba, Secretary General of the Council of State; and leaders of central and local ministries and branches. This activity is within the framework of the official visit to Vietnam and co-chairing the 2nd meeting of the Vietnam - Cuba Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
Here, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the 15th term of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the delegation's activities in Ho Chi Minh City clearly show the close and loyal affection between Vietnam in general, Ho Chi Minh City in particular, and Cuba. As the economic locomotive, cultural, scientific and technological center of the whole country, Ho Chi Minh City is always aware of its responsibility to foster and develop the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
According to Mr. Loi, the staff, lecturers and students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education are typical representatives of the young generation of Vietnam - those who will continue and enrich the solidarity between the two nations. He hopes that the students will nurture the desire to study, research and innovate, contributing to the country and the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.
"As the young generations of the two countries continue to strive, I believe in the future development of the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh, leader Fidel Castro and generations of leaders and people of the two countries," Mr. Nguyen Van Loi affirmed.

On the Cuban side, Mr. Homero Acosta Álvarez, Secretary General of the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba, emphasized that the special relationship between Vietnam and Cuba originated in the 19th century and was deeply developed after the Cuban Revolution in 1959, associated with the common sentiments and thoughts of President Ho Chi Minh and leader Fidel Castro.
From the reality of the working trip, Mr. Homero Acosta Álvarez expressed his joy at the successes of Vietnam today. From a country heavily devastated by war, after only 40-50 years, Vietnam has realized President Ho Chi Minh's aspiration to build a country ten times more beautiful.
"The achievements we see at this school are a testament to the strong change: a place to nurture a young generation that will shoulder the responsibility of building the future," affirmed the Secretary General of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Truong Thi Hien, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, shared: "This year, we are proud to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations. It is a long journey built on deep sympathy and loyal gestures between the two revolutionary nations. The Vietnamese people will never forget the kinship and invaluable help of the Cuban people during the most difficult times in history. The image of Comrade Fidel Castro - the beloved leader of the Cuban people - with the immortal saying "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to sacrifice even its blood" has become a shining symbol of pure international solidarity."
"The spirit of solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba is a priceless asset that our generations have the responsibility to preserve and promote," Dr. Truong Thi Hien emphasized.

During the working trip, the Cuban delegation hoped to learn from Vietnam's experience in improving and applying high technology to agricultural development to serve the Cuban people's lives. This is an important event, contributing to promoting the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba. Choosing the university as the destination for this working trip demonstrates Cuba's deep trust in the university's research potential, academic prestige and pioneering role in training, research and technology transfer.
During the working program, the two sides discussed strategic cooperation orientations in the fields of telecommunications, renewable energy, food processing technology, agriculture, poverty reduction programs and sustainable development. In particular, the event also featured demonstrations of agricultural applications, displaying research and development results, providing a visual perspective on 4.0 technology in agricultural production applications right on the campus of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.
