Provincial People's Council mid-term review

On January 30, the 11th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, held a mid-term review conference. Comrade Pham Van Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council chaired the conference. Attending the conference were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Tran Minh Luc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Long Bien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee, Heads of the Provincial People's Council committees.

During the past half term, the Provincial People's Council has continuously innovated and improved the quality of its activities, properly performed its functions and tasks according to the law and the set programs and plans, making an important contribution to the socio -economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the province. The People's Council meetings have been improved, organized in a timely and quality manner. Since the beginning of the term, the Provincial People's Council has held 16 meetings, reviewed and approved 314 resolutions in the fields of socio-economic development, local government building and decided on personnel work under its authority. Supervision activities have been in-depth, diversified in form and at many levels. The Standing Committee and committees of the Provincial People's Council have conducted 21 thematic supervisions; through the meetings, it has organized 5 questioning sessions for 7 heads of departments and branches; at the same time, organized discussion and explanation sessions in the hall.

The organization of voter and citizen meetings is carried out in accordance with legal regulations, increasingly innovative and effective, especially in resolving voters' opinions, recommendations, complaints and denunciations of citizens; the delegations and delegates of the Provincial People's Council promote the role of people's representatives, strengthen field surveys. The Provincial People's Council has coordinated with the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to organize 12 voter meetings before and after the sessions; organized voter meetings on the topic "Promoting effective implementation of agricultural and farmer development policies in Ninh Thuan province". Thereby, 894 opinions and recommendations under the provincial authority have been received. The coordination between the Standing Committee of the People's Council and the People's Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has been increasingly focused on and closely, contributing significantly to improving the quality of the People's Council's activities as well as effectively resolving issues to effectively serve the local socio-economic development.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council commended the achievements of the Provincial People's Council in the past half term. 2024 is the year of "acceleration" to complete the development goals set out in the Resolution of the 14th Provincial Party Congress and the 5-year Plan 2021-2025. He requested the Standing Committee, committees, delegations and each delegate of the Provincial People's Council to further promote their roles and responsibilities, and take drastic actions to well implement the programs and plans set out by the Provincial People's Council, focusing on a number of important tasks: Continuing to thoroughly grasp the viewpoints, policies and guidelines of the Party, policies and laws of the State and the goals, orientations and development plans of the locality to better perform the assigned functions and tasks. The People's Council must play an important role in innovating local governance in a modern, effective and efficient direction, focusing on development management; Ensure the rule of law and the Constitution, enhance transparency, accountability and participation of the people; contribute to building an administration that serves the people, is democratic, has a rule of law, is professional, modern, scientific , clean, open and transparent, upholds the spirit of serving the people and creates a favorable environment for enterprises to produce and do business. Research and issue resolutions on organizing the implementation and supervision of the implementation of resolutions of the People's Council; improve the quality of resolutions of the People's Council. Develop and organize a suitable, strict and effective supervision program. Further enhance the role, responsibility, capacity and prestige of People's Council delegates closely linked to improving the quality of activities of People's Council delegation groups.

At the conference, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 8 collectives and 14 individuals with outstanding achievements in the mid-term activities of the 11th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026.
