Active propaganda

In the 2024-2025 school year, Hanoi will continue to enroll students in the first grade (5-year-old kindergarten, grade 1, grade 6) online (HERE). This is the enrollment method that the Hanoi education sector has maintained for many years; at the same time, it is highly appreciated by parents and public opinion; aiming for fairness and convenience in enrollment.

To implement the plan, from June 8-10 is the first phase of testing the system and from June 15-17 is the second phase of testing the system with the participation of the Department of Education and Training, Departments of Education and Training, schools and parents.

Talking to reporters of Kinh te & Do thi newspaper, teacher Chu Van Kiem, Principal of Hong Ky Primary School, Soc Son district, said: The school has actively implemented propaganda work to parents about online registration for primary school admission right after the end of the 2023-2024 school year, ensuring that 100% of parents with children of primary school age are aware of it.

One month before the trial registration deadline, information on online registration continues to be sent to parents through many information sources. Necessary content for registration is also sent so that parents can fully prepare, arrange their time, and be ready to register on time. "Next school year, Hong Ky Primary School is assigned 160 first grade quotas with 5 classes. 100% of parents have registered to try the system in both trial runs 1 and 2," said teacher Chu Van Kiem.

For Trung Yen Primary School, Cau Giay District, the first trial run had 139 parents registered and the number of registrations was similar in the second trial run. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school was assigned 8 first grade classes with 392 quotas. Basically, parents have grasped the policy and procedures for online registration.

“Online enrollment registration has become a routine for many years; not only that, thanks to teachers' guidance and reminders, parents remember the schedule and are proficient in all operations. The school has not received much feedback from parents; there have only been a few cases of information adjustments that have been quickly resolved,” said teacher Do Thi Mai.

Carry out admission work seriously

Sharing about the online enrollment work for primary schools, teacher Vu Kim Loan, Principal of Doan Ket Primary School, Ha Dong District, said that after 2 trial phases, the school's enrollment system operated smoothly, without any problems; ensuring a stable connection to serve the official launch in the next few days.

In reality, the Departments of Education and Training of districts, towns and cities have directed kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools in the area to disseminate and guide parents to register their children for online admission on the Primary School Admissions Information Portal.

Along with that, schools prepare facilities; establish working groups to support and implement online enrollment of the school. Each school establishes an enrollment council to carry out enrollment work, ensuring accuracy, objectivity, fairness, and meeting assigned targets.

The Department of Education and Training notes that when receiving official student admission documents, admission officers must carefully check the documents, especially the consistency of personal information; admission officers and the Principal (Chairman of the Admissions Council) of the school must be responsible for checking and confirming the above information.

During the enrollment period, schools are absolutely not allowed to collect or mobilize parents to contribute any amount other than the prescribed amount to the school; strictly implement the enrollment regulations and procedures and limit to the highest extent possible the enrollment of students outside the assigned area, especially for schools that have met their assigned enrollment quotas.

According to the plan, public schools will implement a unified enrollment schedule from July 1; in which, enrollment for grade 1 will be from July 1 to July 3; enrollment for 5-year-old children will be from July 4 to July 6; enrollment for grade 6 will be from July 7 to July 9. Direct enrollment will be conducted from July 13 to July 18, 2024.

During the online and in-person admission period, each unit and school assigns members to be on duty to guide and promptly resolve any difficulties and questions; creating convenience for students and their parents. The Admissions Council also carries out the work of protecting the personal information of students applying for the 2024-2025 school year and the information of other students of the school according to regulations.
