Hezbollah evacuates headquarters from Beirut

Hezbollah has evacuated its entire headquarters in Dahieh, a suburb of the Lebanese capital Beirut, according to The Times of Israel. The move comes amid escalating hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel after the movement's military commander, Fuad Shukr, was killed in an Israeli airstrike.

Since early August, following the assassination of Fuad Shukr in Beirut and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, reports have emerged that Hezbollah is moving its senior personnel out of Beirut, in anticipation of possible Israeli airstrikes.

Hezbollah has also repeatedly fired rockets into Israeli border areas. Hezbollah also attacked an Israeli military base southwest of the northern Israeli city of Safed with drones. Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it had attacked Hezbollah targets in the Taybeh and Adaisseh areas near the border.

For the past 10 months, since the conflict in Gaza broke out, artillery fire at the border between Israel and Hezbollah has continued daily and shows no signs of abating. The clashes have killed at least 565 people in Lebanon, most of them Hezbollah members.
