According to incomplete statistics, the whole province has over 11,000 households flooded and affected water resources and environment due to the circulation of storm No. 10.

Immediately after the flood, the Lao Cai provincial health sector provided water treatment and disinfection chemicals to units and households; sprayed to purify the environment and treated flooded wells. Particularly at the Tran Yen Regional Health Center and Viet Hong Commune Health Station, 3,420 Aquatabs tablets, 25 kg of PAC, and 1 liter of Permethrin were provided.

According to the report of the Provincial Department of Health, by 3:00 p.m. on October 3, the domestic water sources at 4 medical facilities, 4 centralized water supply works and nearly 3,000 households had been treated; the environment of 8 medical facilities, 19 public areas, offices and nearly 5,400 households had been disinfected; 723 kg of Cloramin B chemicals and 1,830 Aquatab tablets had been used to treat water and purify the environment.
