(Dan Tri) - Regarding the controversial 25,000 VND student meal, the Principal of Ba Don Primary School No. 1, Quang Tri province, has sent a letter of apology to parents and students.

On October 7, Ms. Tran Thi Minh Thuy, Principal of Ba Don Primary School No. 1, Ba Don Ward, Quang Tri Province, sent a letter of apology to parents and students regarding the unsatisfactory lunch on October 6.

In the letter, Ms. Thuy expressed her apology and took responsibility for the shortcomings in the process of managing and supervising the menu and food portions, which resulted in the quality of students' meals not being guaranteed.

According to Ms. Thuy, the school has worked with the catering unit to learn from experience and avoid similar incidents from happening again. The school is committed to strengthening daily supervision to improve the quality of lunch for students.

To ensure transparency, Ba Don Primary School No. 1 will take photos of food portions and send them to each class group so that parents can monitor and feel more secure.

In a report sent to local authorities, the leader of Ba Don Primary School No. 1 said that in the 2025-2026 school year, the school has 624 students registered for boarding meals.

Ba Don Primary School No. 1 signed a contract with a lunch supplier at 25,000 VND/meal. Parents directly register and pay weekly or monthly to the supplier. The school does not participate in the financial aspect but is only responsible for supervision.

The company said that due to negligence in preparation, not using pork during the epidemic and food shortages after the storm, the students' meals on October 6 did not meet standards.
