On July 20, after being salvaged from Ha Long Bay ( Quang Ninh province), the ship Vinh Xanh 58 was towed back to shore to await investigation agencies to examine the scene and conduct detailed technical assessment to determine the cause of the particularly serious accident that left 36 people dead and 3 missing.
The steel ship, built in 2015, is over 24m long, has a total weight of 12 tons, and is licensed to carry up to 48 passengers.

The ship’s mast system was severely damaged. After being salvaged, the ship was towed to anchor near the Ha Long Shipyard, right below the Love Bridge.
The cruise ship Blue Bay 58 was assigned registration number QN-7105 and is still registered until February 4, 2026.
At 12:55 on July 19, the Green Bay 58 tourist boat was carrying 46 tourists and 3 crew members on a tour of route 2 in Ha Long Bay. At 1:30 p.m. the same day, the boat encountered a strong storm, capsized, and lost GPS signal.
As of the morning of July 21, 3 victims were still unaccounted for, while previously authorities had rescued 10 people and found 36 bodies.
