Coach Nguyen Anh Duc's departure from Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club was expected. The 3-0 victory over HAGL in the first round of the V-League seemed to be a positive sign, signaling a smooth season for Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club, but that did not happen. After that, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club slipped, losing 5 consecutive matches in all competitions (4 V-League matches and 1 National Cup match against Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club).

Thus, Coach Nguyen Anh Duc became the third person to leave the hot seat in V-League this season, after Coach Makoto Teguramori ( Hanoi Club) and Phan Nhu Thuat (SLNA).
