Musician The Hien passed away

Speaking to Thanh Nien, musician Le Anh Tu - Deputy Chief of Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association said that musician The Hien had just passed away on the evening of October 1. Before that, he had been hospitalized since the night of September 30 at Military Hospital 175.

Deputy Chief of Office   The Ho Chi Minh City Music Association said that musician The Hien passed away on the evening of October 1 after a long battle with a serious illness. Earlier, on the night of September 30, musician The Hien's family noticed that he was tired and had a low SpO2 (oxygen saturation in peripheral blood) so they took him to Military Hospital 175 (Ho Chi Minh City) for emergency treatment. Doctors diagnosed the musician's condition as acute respiratory failure.

Previously, around August 2024, musician Thế Hiển discovered he had lung cancer, his health declined, and he had to be treated at Military Hospital 175. After the health incident, the male musician no longer appeared in music programs and stages. Recently, many colleagues and friends have visited his home to inquire about his health.

People's Artist The Hien was born in 1955, from Nam Dinh , and was a singer of the Bong Sen Song and Dance Troupe (HCMC). In 1982, he began his composing career, his first work, Khi bong bong bay, was well received by the audience. In his career, the male musician's name is associated with a series of songs such as Toc em doi ga, Hoai niem dau yeu, Nhanh lan rung, Hat ve anh, Cho du co di noi dau, Doi cho trong con mua, Dau tang hoi, Nhong nhong nhong, Hoang hon mau tim, Vuon than minh ...

The Hien was recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as the musician who wrote the most songs about soldiers (2012). He was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 2012. Last March, he was awarded the title of People's Artist.
