Referee Jesus Gil Manzano decided to stop the match when Adam Szalai - Hungary's assistant coach - collapsed on the pitch. According to the Daily Mail, Mr. Szalai showed signs of convulsions. The medical team immediately provided first aid to the member of the Hungarian team's coaching staff.
The incident left both teams in shock. Hungary captain Dominik Szoboszlai burst into tears. However, after about 10 minutes for the medical staff to take Adam Szalai to the hospital, the captains of both teams and the referee agreed to continue the match.
The Hungarian Football Federation announced that Adam Szalai is conscious and in stable health condition.
