Vietnam U20 women's team defeated Iran U20 women's team 3-2 to get their first 3 points. Despite the victory, the home team still made mistakes and conceded 2 goals. In response to the opinion that the second goal of Vietnam U20 women's team was due to the lack of experience of the young players, coach Akira Ijiri spoke out to refute.

Speaking at a post-match press conference, the Japanese strategist said: “When the team was leading 3-1, I brought in young players. However, the fact that these players lacked combat experience was not the reason why we were narrowly defeated.

In the last match, we achieved our initial goal of winning. As for whether we are satisfied or not, I have already said. I am never satisfied because if we are satisfied, the players will stagnate and stop developing. We have two more matches, the two upcoming opponents are very difficult to evaluate. I watched their matches and saw that they played very well. I am having tactics to prepare for the remaining two matches."

For her part, coach Maryam Jahaneiati expressed satisfaction with the performance of her players, although the Iranian U20 women's team could not complete the goal of scoring points against the Vietnamese U20 women's team. She shared: "The Iranian U20 women's team scored the first goal, but today there were many spectators cheering for the Vietnamese U20 women's team, so the Iranian players were more or less affected psychologically. We could not cause any surprises. We expected a draw to get 1 point against the Vietnamese U20 women's team, but we could not. The reason is that our players have little experience and have not played international matches in recent times. Moreover, the weather has more or less affected the physical condition of the players. However, we are grateful for the Vietnamese U20 women's team and we had a beautiful match for the audience. The Iranian players need to be more confident and improve their finishing.

The remaining two matches will be a difficult journey for Iran's U20 women's team. Australia's U20 women's team is too strong, but we will not give up, we will try our best to get the best results. We have a plan to deal with Australia."
