DNVN - Ericsson has just launched the EricssonEdge Academia program with the aim of revolutionizing the development of young human resources in the telecommunications sector in Southeast Asia, Oceania and India.
With the explosion of cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, AI and IoT, many studies show that technology-related jobs are growing at the fastest pace globally. To meet this trend, Ericsson has designed a talent development program to support young talent entering the telecommunications industry and contribute to Ericsson’s graduate recruitment strategy in Southeast Asia, Oceania and India.
The EricssonEdge Academia program will equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills in 5G, Cloud and AI technologies, helping them develop themselves and become pioneers in the rapidly changing telecommunications landscape. Each course lasts for 6 months, providing an intensive learning experience for final-year students from more than 40 leading universities in India, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam.
The program begins with a combination of face-to-face sessions taught by Ericsson experts, followed by online modules in the second and third months. Students will participate in regular tests to assess their progress and level of knowledge acquisition throughout the program. These modules not only enrich the learning experience but also provide a comprehensive understanding of cutting-edge technologies, preparing students for a solid career in the telecommunications industry. Students who successfully complete the program will have the opportunity to participate in the Ericsson Graduate Recruitment Program in the region.
“The EricssonEdge Academia program is a clear example of effective collaboration between industry and academia in developing the next generation of telecom professionals. By equipping students with the skills they need to succeed, we not only enhance their career prospects but also ensure the advancement and sustainable competitiveness of the telecom industry,” said Priyanka Anand, Vice President and Head of Human Resources, Southeast Asia, Oceania & India, Ericsson.
The program will provide students with access to Ericsson's training materials as well as opportunities to interact directly with industry leaders, promising to create a solid foundation for future human resources.
