Expanding the investigation into the Kera vegetable candy case, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Agency has just prosecuted and temporarily detained beauty queen Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien for defrauding customers.
Talking in the hallway of the National Assembly , many delegates expressed regret that a person with public influence was caught up in legal trouble related to counterfeit goods.
The incident also raises many issues related to the behavior of celebrities, especially when participating in advertising products to the public.

"Famous people have prestige, they have to show more integrity"
According to delegate Nguyen Minh Duc (HCMC delegation), in recent times, due to unclear and incomplete legal regulations, many famous people have taken advantage of their reputation to advertise widely, even falsely.
On the business side, many units exploit the reputation of celebrities to promote their products. Meanwhile, consumers often have a crowd mentality, seeing celebrities advertising makes them trust and ready to buy.
Mr. Duc also commented that many advertising contracts between celebrities and businesses do not have strict binding terms. Sometimes celebrities do not fully understand and only speak emotionally, leading to exaggerated and untrue advertising.
The above reality requires a legal framework and legal understanding. Celebrities or any citizen when signing an advertising contract must be responsible for checking the product, requesting to provide documents related to the standards and quality of the product.
In addition, the contract must have terms that bind the responsibilities between the advertiser and the advertiser. "When the regulations are strict and clear, there will be no violations," Mr. Duc said.
The Deputy Chairman of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee also emphasized the ethical factors, prestige and responsibility of famous people before the community.
"Celebrities who have prestige and reputation in the community must show their integrity even more. Every step and action is different from that of non-famous people and is noticed, followed, and commented on by the public," he said.

Businesses must have ethics to develop sustainably.
Delegate Nguyen Thi Viet Nga (Hai Duong delegation) commented that many individuals and businesses producing and trading counterfeit goods know the harmful effects of these products, but still do so regardless because of high profits.
This shows that the problem is not only about understanding the law or whether the law is strict enough, but also comes from business ethics.
The female delegate said that the State has been devoting attention and resources to creating favorable conditions for businesses, especially small and medium enterprises, to develop. This attention is very necessary and correct, but that alone is not enough, it is also necessary to pay attention to the ethics and community responsibility of entrepreneurs and businesses.
Only when a good ethical and cultural foundation is built can a business develop sustainably. "If we do not pay due attention, there will still be people who, for profit, will ignore all their rules and responsibilities to chase after money," Ms. Nga emphasized.
Miss Thuy Tien: From the noise of tearing up the debt paper to the Kera vegetable candy case
In addition, the Hai Duong delegation noted the responsibility of the management agencies. As the Prime Minister recently stated, when hundreds of tons of fake functional foods are discovered, there are only two possibilities: one is that there is no longer the will to fight, the other is that they are bribed.
Ms. Nga believes that the production and sale of counterfeit goods is not the work of a single individual. Meanwhile, we have a whole team of law enforcement officers, with many regulations related to inspection, supervision, prevention, etc., but still let very large cases occur.
"The recent large-scale seizure of counterfeit goods is certainly the fault of those performing public duties and those who manage those performing public duties," the female delegate said, adding that solutions are needed to overcome this problem.
