Conference on vocational training, job creation and sending workers to work abroad under contract

On May 17, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a conference to discuss solutions to promote vocational training, job creation and sending workers to work abroad under contracts. Attending were leaders of relevant departments, branches, organizations, localities and units.

According to the report, in 2022, the whole province provided vocational training for over 10,800 workers; created jobs for 18,730 workers, exceeding the plan by 17%; and sent 154 workers to work abroad for a limited period under contracts. In addition to the achieved results, vocational training, job creation, and sending workers to work abroad for a limited period still face many difficulties and limitations. The number of workers going to work abroad for a limited period is not high, not commensurate with human resources and demand. The quality of workers' skills has not met the requirements of domestic and foreign markets.

At the conference, delegates discussed, exchanged, shared experiences, made proposals and recommendations for solutions to improve this efficiency, focusing on related issues: Vocational training associated with businesses to solve on-site employment, sending workers to work abroad for a limited period; improving the job exchange, creating a bridge connecting businesses and workers; coordination between localities in selecting and supporting policies for workers when participating in working abroad under contracts; policies to attract human resources in industrial parks in the province...
