In the first 9 months of 2025, the Management Board of Muong La Nature Reserve has implemented many practical activities, achieving outstanding results. The unit organized 53 village-level meetings with over 6,735 participants, thoroughly grasped and signed commitments to protect forests and prevent and fight forest fires in 33 buffer zones in Chieng Lao, Muong La, and Ngoc Chien communes. Forest patrol and control work was strengthened with 59 inspections to promptly detect, report, and handle forest encroachments; at the same time, guide people in high-risk areas in fire prevention and fighting in the dry season. Every month, forest protection teams and reserve officials maintain 10-day/month patrols according to contract in areas where the Black-rumped Gibbon lives; on duty for fire prevention and fighting 24/24 hours, especially during the peak of hot and dry weather.
In addition, the Management Board has organized the care of 442.43 hectares of planted forests in previous years, organized the planting of nearly 59.7 hectares of special-use forests from the central fund for afforestation and carried out natural regeneration of 257.77 hectares (transitional from 2021); signed forest protection contracts with 22 village communities; completed documents and made payments for forest environmental services in 2025 to the contracted communities with a total amount of VND 9,786,213,900. Wildlife conservation work has also been focused on when receiving and caring for 01 monkey and 02 loris individuals handed over by the Forest Protection Department of Region XII. The buffer zone support program has been effectively implemented, providing 756 tons of cement and 140 solar-powered lighting lamps to 33 villages, contributing to improving the living conditions of the people.
Professional capacity building was focused on through 06 training sessions for officials on using SMART tools in forest patrolling and new regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; sending 06 civil servants and public employees to participate in training courses organized by the Forest Protection Department on applying Mapinfo, QGIS, SMART in monitoring forest changes and biodiversity monitoring.

The conference identified the last 3 months of 2025 as the sprint period to complete the targets, with key tasks: tightening forest management and protection, assigning specific responsibilities to cadres and localities; synchronously implementing forest fire prevention and fighting solutions in the dry season; proactively removing difficulties in the process of arranging and perfecting the organizational apparatus.
