The Steering Committee for power supply and relocation of power works serving the investment and construction of key and important national traffic projects of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) has just held its first meeting to assess the implementation of coordination tasks with localities and construction units of key and important national traffic projects.

According to EVN's report, with the North-South High-Speed Railway Project, EVN units have proactively contacted and sent documents to the People's Committees of the provinces, relevant departments and the Railway Management Board to request information and contact points to proactively grasp information on the project's progress, clearly identify the project's site clearance boundaries as well as the number of intersections and the volume of power grid that needs to be relocated.

Specifically, the 500 kV grid has 56 affected locations, the 220 kV grid has 130 locations, the 110 kV grid has 92 locations and the medium and low voltage grid has a preliminary 923 affected locations. However, up to now, the project is still in the pre-feasibility report stage, so there is not enough basis to accurately determine the power supply demand, the number of intersection points and the grid volume that needs to be relocated.

Construction and relocation of power lines intersecting with traffic routes is carried out day and night.

Through the implementation, the units also reported difficulties and problems that affected the progress of the work such as the issue of relocation costs and relocation responsibilities, the process of preparing documents by the investor side was not yet complete, prolonging the approval time. In addition, registering for power outages in areas where highways intersect with important 220 kV and 500 kV lines is very difficult, requiring the coordination of many units, human resources and means.

Sharing about these difficulties, EVN Deputy General Director Vo Quang Lam requested units to continue to closely coordinate with localities to carry out tasks under their responsibilities to ensure the set progress, and absolutely not to affect the construction progress of traffic works.

For railway and highway projects, EVN leaders requested that the Electricity Corporations in charge of managing the relevant areas closely follow information from localities and proactively handle arising problems right at the grassroots level. Along with that, it is necessary to strictly implement the regular and timely reporting regime so that the Group's leaders can provide timely direction and support.

EVN's General Director also noted that units need to carefully study relocation plans when making them, and only carry out relocation when really necessary to avoid waste.

Concluding the meeting, EVN General Director Nguyen Anh Tuan requested all units to continue to seriously implement and actively participate in the activities of the Steering Committee for power supply and relocation of power works to serve the investment and construction of key and important national transport projects.
