In his welcome speech, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that this is an event of special importance, aiming to concretize the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; at the same time, bringing Gia Lai closer to the business community and investors.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan shared that Gia Lai is strategically located in the center of the East-West and North-South axes, connecting the Central Coast, the Central Highlands and Laos, Cambodia and the Mekong sub-region. With a diverse ecosystem, 130 km of coastline, 80 km of border and potential for high-tech agriculture , renewable energy, industry, services and logistics, Gia Lai has the foundation for comprehensive development, towards a modern, dynamic and sustainable province.

In the period of 2026-2030, the province determines to promote science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation; develop rapidly and sustainably, making Gia Lai a center of industry, high-tech agriculture, services, tourism, artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductor chips. Striving for Gia Lai to become a fairly developed province, achieving double-digit economic growth in the period of 2026-2030, firmly entering a new era of development with the whole country.

5 pillars, 3 breakthroughs

On the new journey, the province has identified 5 pillars of growth and focused on 3 strategic breakthroughs including: Building a creative, streamlined, effective and efficient government, enhancing local competitiveness; promoting science - technology, innovation, digital transformation; issuing specific and outstanding mechanisms and policies to remove bottlenecks, attract large investments; developing high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of industrialization - modernization and green transformation; creating breakthroughs in transport infrastructure, irrigation, logistics, industry, trade - services, digital infrastructure and prioritizing connectivity between plateaus - deltas - coasts.

The Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that the province has prepared and focused on synchronous investment in both physical and digital infrastructure to attract investors. The province owns a multi-modal transport infrastructure, closely connected to major economic centers, including roads and railways with the North-South axis connecting via National Highway 1A, National Highway 14C and the North-South Eastern Expressway and the East-West axis formed via National Highways 19, 14, 25; especially the Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway (125 km) expected to start construction in October 2025, will become a high-speed arterial route, connecting industrial parks, seaports, border gates, airports and expanding domestic and international trade.

Regarding aviation, Gia Lai is currently one of the few localities with two airports (Phu Cat and Pleiku), convenient for operating domestic flights, connecting with major economic centers. On August 19, 2025, the province started the project to build runway No. 2 and synchronous items at Phu Cat Airport; this project aims to turn Phu Cat Airport into a modern international airport, operating international routes, thereby enhancing trade, tourism, integration and attracting investment.

In addition, Gia Lai owns the Le Thanh international seaport and border gate. The seamless coordination between the seaports, border gates and 2 airports will significantly enhance the capacity of trade, freight and passenger transport, not only serving Gia Lai but also the South Central - Central Highlands region, even reaching out to the international (Laos, Cambodia, Thailand).

In addition, after the merger, the province also owns 2 economic zones, 24 industrial parks with a total area of ​​9,450 hectares and 99 industrial clusters with a total area of ​​5,400 hectares. This is a favorable condition for investors to implement large-scale projects, linking production - processing - consumption, expanding domestic and international markets. In addition, Gia Lai is promoting the application of artificial intelligence (AI), 4.0 technology and semiconductor industry, considering this an important driving force for the development of digital economy, digital society and digital government.

Call for investment in many fields

At the Investment Promotion Conference, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan respectfully invited investors to continue to pay attention and invest in areas such as: Developing processing and manufacturing industries, focusing on attracting projects for processing agricultural, forestry and aquatic products; at the same time promoting high-tech industry, artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors; manufacturing components, electronic equipment, precision mechanics and high-tech products; developing renewable energy and green industry, aiming to form a regional renewable energy center; developing port services and smart logistics centers along key traffic routes such as National Highway 19, North-South Expressway and Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway; forming world-class tourist areas and music festivals, creating attractive destinations on the global tourism map.

Along with that, investing in developing large-scale specialized areas for the province's key agricultural products, including sugarcane, high-tech dairy cows, coffee, pepper, vegetables, medicinal herbs and high-tech concentrated livestock; stable raw material areas, linked with deep processing industry to increase value in the future; converting low-efficiency rubber and dipterocarp forest areas to crops with higher economic value and developing the Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone, attracting raw material areas from Cambodia to the province's economic zones and industrial parks for processing, forming a sustainable value chain.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that businesses will learn about and invest in the tourism and cultural sectors. Mr. Tuan said that Gia Lai has a unique tourism ecosystem combining sea resorts, mountain and forest ecology, culture - community and adventure sports. This is an opportunity to call for investment in high-class resorts, eco-community tourism, international sports - event centers, entertainment areas, urban tourism infrastructure and smart services, aiming to build Gia Lai into an international-class tourist destination.

According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, in addition to attracting new investment, the province also focuses on reviewing and evaluating slow-moving projects to remove difficulties and improve the reputation of the investment environment; at the same time, resolutely withdrawing projects from incompetent investors, creating conditions for potential investors to participate effectively. The province prioritizes resources for developing social infrastructure, especially in the fields of health and education; focuses on protecting the environment and preserving the landscape to make Gia Lai a peaceful, clean, beautiful and civilized land. At the same time, the province continues to reform administrative procedures, shorten the time for processing documents, make information transparent, strengthen progress monitoring and adjust and withdraw projects that are no longer suitable.

Gia Lai hopes that investors will register and commit to implementing the project on schedule; develop in the direction of green economy, circular economy, and environmental friendliness; together build a sustainable business ecosystem, bringing long-term value to the community. At the same time, investors need to demonstrate strong financial capacity, directly implement the project with products on schedule, as committed, do real work, and have real results; not sell or transfer the project; and actively accompany the locality in social security and environmental protection activities.
