Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that this morning, student LQ (residing in Binh Chanh district), a student of Han Thuyen High School, had his vehicle break down on the way to the exam site of Phu Nhuan High School.
Because it was almost exam time, candidate LQ quickly ran to the exam site of Vinh Loc High School (Binh Tan District) to ask for help.
Upon receiving the information, the head of the testing site quickly reported it to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City. With a humane and flexible spirit in direction, the Department's leaders allowed the testing site to use a backup testing room to create conditions for LQ to take the test on time.
Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that this decision demonstrates the proactiveness and flexibility of the city's education sector in handling unexpected situations, in order to ensure the best interests of students.
“We always consider each exam not only a measure of knowledge but also a test of humanity in operation. Cases like LQ are proof of the harmonious coordination between the school, the exam site and the Department to protect the legitimate rights of candidates,” Mr. Ho Tan Minh emphasized.
Also according to Mr. Ho Tan Minh, this morning, the city had 97,050 candidates taking the first elective exam, 384 candidates were absent; the percentage of candidates taking the exam was 99.6%.
Meanwhile, the elective subject of the second shift had 95,492 candidates taking the exam, with 152 absent candidates; the rate of candidates taking the exam was 99.84%.
“Despite strict instructions, there were still candidates using their phones this morning. At the Nguyen Thai Binh Secondary School (District 6) test site, one candidate deliberately used his phone. However, the test site detected and promptly prevented the leaking of exam questions,” said Mr. Minh.
