The previous record for the quickest sacking was held by Les Reeds, who took charge of Charlton in just 41 days, when he was appointed in November 2006 and sacked on Christmas Eve that year. Postecoglou also has the second-fewest games in charge in the Premier League era (5), ahead of Frank de Boer (4 games at Crystal Palace in 2017).
It is worth mentioning that Postecoglou had a very bad record when leading Nottingham with not winning a single match after 8 matches in charge. The 0-3 loss to Chelsea right at home at City Ground made the team's leadership lose patience with the Australian strategist.
According to Talksport , Nottingham Forest's board of directors immediately chose Postecoglou's replacement, coach Sean Dyche - who has been unemployed since being sacked by Everton in January.
Nottingham Forest are keen on Fulham boss Marco Silva as their long-term option, but are struggling to break the Portuguese's contract with the Cottagers before it expires in June 2026.
