Personalized Hanoi Night Run Medal

The VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2023 Ioniq Cup medal has a hollow design to allow runners to freely create and tell their own story along with their night running journey.

The Hanoi Night Run 2023 medal is round, 90 x 96 mm in size, made of steel alloy, plated with gold. This is the first time the VnExpress Marathon system has designed a medal with a perforated base.

According to the organizers, the tournament will gather 11,000 runners, each with different ideas, inspirations and stories about Hanoi. Therefore, VnExpress Marathon wants to reserve the remaining "space" on the medal for runners to freely create.

"We emphasize personal touches because the finisher medal is proof of the runner's efforts on the journey to conquer the race track. The organizers will tell part of the story, the rest is on the medal background, the athlete is free to create," the organizers representative shared.

The VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2023 medal design brings together folk tales and national culture. The border is inspired by the motifs on the Dong Son bronze drum - representing the Dong Son culture and the Red River civilization of the ancient Vietnamese people during the time when King Hung founded the Van Lang nation.

The story of King Le Loi defeating the Ming invaders and the legend of returning the magic sword to the golden turtle was the inspiration for the design team to draw the main details. The sword-shaped wire hanger, the front is embossed with the Turtle Tower and The Huc Bridge standing on a green water background.

The color scheme on the medal is inspired by the houses in Hanoi's Old Quarter. The background evokes the deep yellow of old houses, while the words "HANOI MIDNIGHT" are created from the moss green of Luc Thuy Lake and the betel nut color of old signs.

Like other tournaments in the system, the back of the medal for this year's Hanoi Night Run is engraved with the word "Finisher". The medals for the four distances are the same, except for the color of the ribbon. Runners who complete the 42km distance will receive a medal with a navy blue ribbon, 21km distance will receive an orange ribbon, 10km will have a sky blue ribbon and 5km will have a purple ribbon.

VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2023 will take place on the night of November 25 and early morning of November 26, when Hanoi enters the transition period from autumn to winter. The improved running route will take runners to explore ancient streets, famous landmarks and places that are changing with the pace of modern life.

This year, the number of athletes participating in the Hanoi Night Run has increased to 11,000. In addition to the individual race, 52 clubs with 1,300 athletes will compete in the team category - nearly double the number of the previous race. Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Automobile Joint Stock Company will be the main partner, accompanying the event.
