Spreading the spirit of sportsmanship, contributing to raising the level of Vietnamese Pickleball

On October 1, the Sports Department (Vietnam Television) held the VTV AO Smith Pickleball Open 2025 Announcement Ceremony. This is an outstanding sporting event, marking a new development step for Pickleball in Vietnam, while spreading the spirit of modern, youthful and vibrant sports to the community.

The tournament will officially take place from October 24 to 26, 2025 at Happyland Stadium (139 Dam Quang Trung, Long Bien District, Hanoi). The tournament is co-organized by the Sports Department (Vietnam Television) and TD Media, under the professional management of the Vietnam Sports Department and co-produced by Vietcontent.

The entire tournament applies Pickleball USA Competition Rules to affirm professionalism and standardization according to international standards.

Pickleball is a sport that combines tennis, badminton and table tennis, and is quickly attracting the Vietnamese sports community thanks to its simple rules, easy access and suitability for all ages.

With nearly 700 domestic and foreign athletes competing in 11 events, with a total prize value of more than 1 billion VND, the VTV AO Smith Pickleball Open 2025 is expected to create momentum for the Vietnamese Pickleball movement.

The tournament is open to all athletes, including foreign athletes, and has the participation of outstanding players such as Nguyen Dac Tien, Nguyen Anh Thang (Anh Chu Pickleball), along with many artists, businessmen, and celebrities participating in the competition, contributing to creating a vibrant and attractive atmosphere.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Mr. Dinh Dac Vinh - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television emphasized: "Pickleball, although new in Vietnam, is developing very quickly. This tournament is an important step for VTV and its partners to spread the spirit of modern and humane sports, while building a healthy and sustainable playground for the community."

Notably, within the framework of the tournament, the Organizing Committee will coordinate to organize a charity fundraising program to support the Vietnamese Heart Fund - a meaningful humanitarian activity for the community initiated by VTV since 2008.

Representative of the Vietnam Sports Department, Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director highly appreciated the scale of organization and professionalism of the tournament: "The participation of top athletes, professional referees from the Vietnam Sports Department and attractive prize structure are the foundation to help the tournament create prestige, contributing to promoting the Pickleball movement to develop widely in the country".

Not only a place for top sports competitions, the VTV AO Smith Pickleball Open 2025 is also designed as a community sports festival with many rich activities such as the Pickleball challenge area, children's play area, interactive experience area... In particular, on the evening of October 25, there will be a charity fundraising night "Heart for Children", spreading the message of humanity from sports to the community.

The tournament will be broadcast live on digital platforms such as VTVgo, VTV Sports Fanpage, Tournament Fanpage and Webthethao.vn platform jointly produced by Vietcontent, bringing modern sports experiences and opportunities to watch and cheer for millions of viewers nationwide.

• Fee: 500,000 VND/person/event (each athlete can register for a maximum of 2 events)

• Open Doubles (men's, women's, mixed)
• Couples under 35 years old (male, female, mixed-gender)
• Couples over 35 years old (male, female, mixed gender)
• Artists, businessmen, celebrities (male, female, male-female)

Prize

• From 5,000,000 to 60,000,000 VND for each content
• MVP (best athlete): 20,000,000 VND
