Cancel the decision to correct the year of birth on the graduation certificate of the chairman of Gia Rai Town

The Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau revoked and canceled the decision to adjust the year of birth on the supplementary cultural graduation certificate of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Rai Town ( Bac Lieu ).

On December 22, according to Thanh Nien reporter's source, the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau issued a decision to revoke and cancel the decision to adjust the year of birth on the secondary school graduation certificate of Mr. Do Minh Thang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Rai Town (Bac Lieu) from 1966 to 1964.

Specifically, revoke Decision No. 14/SGDĐT-KT dated July 6, 2020 on editing the content recorded on the secondary school diploma of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau for Mr. Do Minh Thang.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau, the previous decision to amend did not comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on the management of diplomas and certificates in the national education system. This change caused Mr. Thang's personal profile to have two different birth years: March 26, 1964 in his resume and personal papers, while his secondary school diploma was dated November 19, 1966.

Regarding the incident, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province has directed a review of Mr. Ta Thanh Vu, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, for his lack of responsibility in verifying and handling errors in Mr. Thang's qualifications. Previously, Mr. Vu was accused of lacking a sense of responsibility in performing his official duties, and the conclusion from the People's Committee of the province determined that the content of the accusation was correct.

In April 2022, the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee requested the Ca Mau Department of Education and Training to verify the legality of Mr. Do Minh Thang's secondary school diploma. According to the report of the Ca Mau Department of Education and Training, the secondary school exam held in January 1985 at the Tac Van examination council was confirmed to have taken place. However, the original records of the examination council no longer exist and the comparison of the sample form, signature, and seal on the diploma only showed a match in form.

The People's Committee of Ca Mau province believes that the above response is inappropriate and does not provide enough basis to confirm the legitimacy of Mr. Thang's diploma. At the same time, Mr. Ta Thanh Vu's delay in signing the official dispatch requesting re-verification of the diploma after responding to Bac Lieu is considered irresponsible.

The Provincial People's Committee requested the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau to organize a review of Mr. Ta Thanh Vu; at the same time, review and handle erroneous documents according to authority and regulations.
