High school 'whistled' for confusing teacher arrangement

Accordingly, on September 23, the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province received information that Nguyen Viet Khai High School organized a meeting to consider the arrangement of surplus and shortage of teachers in a localized manner, which was not in accordance with the Department's direction, affecting the psychology and causing confusion among some teachers subject to arrangement and negative public opinion within the school.

The Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau requested the Principal of Nguyen Viet Khai High School to coordinate with organizations and unions in the school to thoroughly implement the policy of arranging local surpluses and shortages of teachers to create consensus and solidarity within the unit. The review and arrangement of teachers must ensure publicity, transparency, compliance with regulations, and not affect the teaching activities of the school.

During the reorganization process, the Department of Education and Training recommends that schools consider the specific circumstances of each teacher subject to reorganization and encourage those who voluntarily transfer to schools with shortages. Report the results and documents to the Department for consideration and resolution no later than the end of September.

Previously, the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau issued an official dispatch clearly stipulating the principles for arranging surplus or shortage of teachers in the 2025-2026 school year, ensuring fairness, objectivity, conformity with subject structure, staffing standards and correct training expertise.

The document also sets out priority criteria, including encouraging teachers who meet standards and have been evaluated as having completed their tasks well for many consecutive years, while also considering factors such as household registration, seniority, and personal circumstances when arranging transfers.

However, when the Board of Directors of Nguyen Viet Khai High School implemented the arrangement of local surplus and shortage of teachers, some teachers working at this school reacted, saying that the Principal did not properly implement the direction of the Department.
